Dude Tries ‘Vibe Coding’ Robot, Sends It on Path of Destruction
Maybe if you were “actually coding” this wouldn’t have happened.
There’s a new trend taking over the tech world. Dubbed “vibe coding,” it’s where you have an LLM like Copilot or ChatGPT write your code for you, then your job is to go through and revise things yourself.
This is how it’s supposed to go, at least. In reality, the rise of LLMs has so degraded the coding ability of many coders that they end up asking ChatGPT to write them code, telling ChatGPT it doesn’t work and then asking ChatGPT to fix it.
I’m sorry, *who’s* job is about to be automated again?
This can have pretty dramatic (and comedic) consequences. For example, the guy below bounced some code straight from his LLM to a robot — and immediately caused it to attack him
